However, I need to install LaTeX for legacy purposes (mainly Lambda/Aleph critical edition stuff). fpTeX is gone, I can't find XemTeX (broken link https://xemtex.groups.foundry.supelec.fr/downloads/xemtex-0.5-rc0.msi ) so I guess that leaves MiKTeX. Any advice on choosing/installing a minimal LaTeX distribution? Updated links? I heard the best choice would be proTeXt (also on TeXlive DVD), that installs an adapted edition of MikTeX.
