Can you check what is in mpxerr.log? It looks like the 'normal'
latex command in your path has a problem with something, that
does not happen with the executable in texlive's bin directory.

Best wishes,
Taco

Looks like you should install or update the Latin Modern font package.

Best wishes,

All, I sent this to OS X TeX list, but perhaps I can get some
guidance here?

All,

After installing MacTeX (textlve2008), mptopdf fails:

pstricks $ mptopdf bruce

MPtoPDF 1.3.3 : bruce.* is converted to bruce-0.pdf + bruce-1.pdf

I tried:

tlmgr update context

No good. Same error as above after update.

Any suggestions?

david

Oh that is something for the software museum :)

I am not a miktex user, but does it help to set the environment
variable TEXSYSTEM to "miktex"? How do the other ConTeXt/miktex users
use mptopdf?

supp-pdf.tex *is* kind of standalone so there must be something wrong

as an alternative you can convert your mp graphics to pdf:

   texexec --fig=c --pdf yourfile.1

or

   mptopdf yourfile.1

and include them as pdf

Hello all,

I need to compile my two years old plain TeX file, in which I use
supp-pdf.tex. But the current supp-pdf.tex is (of course) a bit different,
and using \convertMPtoPDF defined in this file causes TeX to report (with my
document):

VSize is 845.03174pt [MP to PDF] (moon.eps
! Missing \endcsname inserted.
<to be read again>
                   \setbox
\number #1->\setbox
                    0=\hbox {#1\theSN \global \advance \SN by 1}\Type...
\!MPgMPa #1->\csname \@@MP 0\number #1
                                      \endcsname
\handleMPgraycolor ->\PDFcode {\!MPgMPa 1
                                          g \!MPgMPa 1 G}
\dohandleMPsequenceB ...handleMPgraycolor
                                          \resetMPstack \else \ifx \s...
l.8  0.6 setgray

?
! Missing \endcsname inserted.

Does anybody know what to do? Does not exist some standalone/plainTeX
supp-pdf which can be used directly? I am plannig switch the document into
ConTeXt, but now this is not in my task list,

thank you,

Martin

Hi,

There is a new pointer at our site: mptopdf (follow pdftex or download).
This leads you to the contextless mptopdf toolset.
