style= in \placeindex

Hi,

How can I get capital AND colored character headings in the index 
(style=...)? I can get either one with style={\WORD} and 
style={\color[red]} in \placeindex (or \setupregister), but all my 
attempts at combining them (using different ways of grouping) failed.

\setupindex[color=red,alternative=A]
