you just kept it secret ... i made 'currentcolor' for you -)

anyhow ... using commands with @@ in it is usually a bad idea

\unprotect
\startMPcode
draw fullcircle scaled 2cm withcolor \MPcolor{\@@themaintextcolor} ;
\stopMPcode
\protect

might have worked
