Hi,

Background colors do not work inside tables with mkiv. For example

\setupcolors[state=start]
\starttext
       \starttable[|mc|mc|mc|mc|mc|mc|]
         \HL[2]
         \BL[6] \AR
         \NC x_1 \NC x_2 \NC x_3 \NC z_1 \NC z_2 \NC z_3 \NC \AR
         \HL[2]
         \NC 0   \NC 0   \NC 0   \NC 1   \NC 1   \NC 0   \NC \AR
         \NC 0   \NC 0   \NC 1   \NC 1   \NC 1   \NC 1   \NC \AR
       \stoptable
\stoptext

hm, probably color applied to boxes; anyhow, i will replement table 
colors in mkiv using node lists parsing
