mh, just made a 'minimal' example and it looks like this bug is not
related to png transparency. this wasn't visible in my real world
example (only transparent areas of the png were affected).
looks more like a mess of layer priorities to me (just guessing).
context example attached (inclusion.tex is the main file, testpdf.tex is
the source for the included pdf).
so before i file a bug report, can someone confirm this? i used pdftex
1.40.9-rc1 for this test.
