an upcoming beta will provide such a feature

\usetypescript[cambria]\setupbodyfont[cambria]

\startTEXpage
     $\alpha \mathgreekupright \alpha \mathgreekitalic \alpha$
\stopTEXpage

and also:

\setupmathematics[greek=normal|italic|none]

but first aditya and i need to agree on the names and complete the
related greek vector
