Ok, I'm (finally) getting back to this subject.

Is this supposed to work for any verbatim environment besides
\startTEX...\stopTEX? I can't get it to work for 'C' or even basic
'typing'. They don't pick up on the embedded formatting, everything is
typeset verbatim.

Tad

PS: Here are my test cases:

============================
\definetyping[C][option=C]
\setuptyping[C][escape=yes]
\starttext
\startC
#include <stdio.h>
int main(){
    return 0;
    /BTEX{\em unreachedCode;}/ETEX
}
\stopC
\stoptext
============================

============================
\starttext
\setuptyping[escape=yes]
\starttyping
/BTEX\em sometex/ETEX
/BTEX\em sometex/ETEX \after
\before /BTEX\em sometex/ETEX
\before /BTEX\em sometex/ETEX \after
\before /BTEX\em sometex/ETEX \inbetween /BTEX\em sometex/ETEX \after
\before \after
\stoptyping
\stoptext
============================
