a few path definitions are optimized which might make kpse faster (mkii 
uses kpse); the minimal trees are definitely faster than a full tex 
install (way less files)

also, mtxrun is the official stub for all scripts (replacing the ruby 
texmfstart) it might also be faster in the startup
