In search of what is going wrong, I discovered that even this simple
code fails with context:
\starttext
\externalfigure[cow]
\stoptext
Did I miss something or is this broken?
Btw: Context Minimals on Ubuntu 11.04 32bit.
Log-file attached.
As always: thanks in advance!
