Hey,

Typing

\setupbibtex[database=bib]

\starttext
\completepublications
\stoptext

with bib.bib:

@BOOKLET{booklet,
  title = {Something here},
  year = {2005},
  publisher = {Something here},
}

creates the attached pdf-file without any references. I also attache the
log-file.

You want \completepublications[criterium=all], if you wish to list
publications even when they're not referenced in the text. Perhaps you
were misled by the name -- \completepublications (as opposed to
\placepublications) just means you get the title ‘References’
at the top of the page. The ‘criterium’ argument controls which
publications are actually included.

Some weeks ago this also has worked for me, so maybe its a bug in a
newer version (end of may?)?
But i wonder, that no one else has this problem.

It is strange.
I compiled it by
1) latest minimals
2) ConTeXt (MKIV) in TeXLive 2010.
(LuaTeX, Version beta-0.60.2-2010071421 (Web2C 2010) (rev 3736)
ConTeXt  ver: 2010.05.24 13:05 MKIV  fmt: 2010.9.21  int: english/english

and in both cases it was fine... (I really tried)

I dont know now. I dont have much experience with it. I would try if it 
can not be a problem as the encoding (UTF8) or try to add at the 
beginning of \usemodule [bib]. Or try to update bib module (ie 
http://www.mail-archive.com/ntg-context @ ntg.nl/msg38443.html) etc..
Unfortunately I do not have the opportunity to try a different installation.

Bibliography alone does not work in the latest version of minimals as I 
imagined - in this statement is not aligned as it should be.
I also wrote to this list, but no one knows with the council.

I am using UTF8, this should not be a problem.
Adding that line didn't work. Of course not, because the code has moved
to the core and loading a module is not nessecary.
How can I update something when it is not an extra module?

It could be a \write18 problem. Is a \jobname.bbl file generated? Last I 
checked, TL2010 came with a horribly broken texmfcnf.lua so enabling 
\write18 for MkIV was non-trivial.

Yes, it is, but it is empty.
Checking the texmf.cnf it is set:
shell_escape            = t
Referring to the wiki, that means that \write18 in enabled.

So that is the problem. Try manually running

bibtex <filename>

to see if a correct .bbl file is generated.

IIUC, MkIV reads the value from texmfcnf.lua not texmf.cnf. The wiki 
refers to old information, before texmfcnf.lua was introduced.

I got the following error message:

I couldn't open style file cont-no.bst

I'm skipping whatever remains of this command
I found no style file---while reading file bibtest.aux
(There were 2 error messages)

I don't know, why it doesn't find 'cont-no.bst'. It is in the standard
folder: /home/context/tex/texmf-context/bibtex/bst/context.

bibtest.aux contains:

\citation{*}
\bibstyle{cont-no}
\bibdata{bib}

Sounds  like  you need to run mktexlsr. Bibtex uses LS-R to find these
files. (afaik; at least it helped me when I got that error)
