Weird, not here. can you change line 119 into
if not a or a == "" then -- not a added
and see what happens?

Hi,
I recently noticed a similar, maybe related problem.
Saving this
\starttext
\placefigure[middle]{none}{\externalfigure[hacker]}
\stoptext
in a file called "test.Fig.tex" leads to the luatex error mentioned
before. The same file without a dot in its name (testFig.tex) compiles
like expected.
Tested with ConTeXt ver: 2011.08.04 00:42 MKIV fmt: 2011.8.9 int:
english/english on Mac OS X 10.6.
Regards
Daniel

The following patch fix this one.

But if we call the file "test+Fig.tex" instead of "test.Fig.tex" or
"testFig.tex", then it still can't compile.
The top file is created as the name "test+Fig.top" correctly, but at the
beginning, it still output the line:
system > no test+Fig.top
Since I don't know which script dealt with loading the .top file, I
can't fix this one.
