1. MkIV doesn’t need a font encoding.

2. ConTeXt already provides typescripts for Palatino (or to be true Pagella).

3. You can enable bold characters with the \bf command.

\setupbodyfont[palatino]

\starttext
\startformula
A \Delta : {\bf A \Delta} : A \Delta
\stopformula
\stoptext
