Hullo,

i have installed the current stable release from ctan dated 2001-11-13.
Until today it never was a problem getting mptopdf working; but now
i get:

Using the support files from tug.org/applications/pdftex
i get:

ConTeXt is installed in a local path, there is always an old version in the
original teTeX tree present. But as i can see the files in the old tree are not
used, thus a version mismatch can not occur. Here is the log of the format generation

I have moved the fmt-file to /usr/share/texmf/web2c where other fmt-files normally
also are.
Since this fmt-file is the only existing mptopdf.fmt in the system i'm sure that this
is the one used.
Since this problem also breaks the direct MPS-inclusion in documents i'm really in trouble.

There is a bug in supp-mis.tex: it should define \@EAEAEA, but it
doesn't. While waiting for Hans to fix it, patch your supp-mis.tex
in the following way: find the line

\let\@EA=\expandafter

and add, right after it:

\def\@EAEAEA{\expandafter\expandafter\expandafter}

this has already been solved in the latest beta, add

\def\@EAEAEA{\expandafter\expandafter\expandafter}

somewhere in supp-pdf.tex (after \unprotect)

and it will go ok

btw 1: texexec --fig=c yourfile.1 will also work

btw 2: grab a newer pdftex from the web, your one is acro-5 unsafe
