Hi,
i'm currently working on the updated metafun manual (some 75 pages with
explanations, examples, tricks added so far); some time ago there was some
discussion about the next dante meeting; if there is enough interest we can
organize a (how to use) metapost (in context) session. Does this make sense?

Sure!
I'll give an intro for beginners, Patrick tells about XML, and your task as
'the wizard' is the magic. ;-)
And Guenter Partosch wrote he would do...
