Let's ask the list:

Is anyone using vtex?

I think it should be no problem to use context in vtex; maybe we need to 
make a special driver for it, which is no big deal. On the other hand, if 
you like to play with metapost and so, you may want to switch to one of the 
tex's on tex live (using pdfetex).
