Hi,
If you run a recent version, you can use the metapost graph module by saying:
\forceMPTEXgraphictrue
\appendtoks
initialize_numbers ;
input graph ;
Autoform := "@g" ;
\to \MPinitializations
The next release will provide a (more efficient) module:
\usemodule[graph]
