You can consider to use the synonyms mechanism

Heelo,
I need to typeset a glossary of terms (at the end of the document) whose
definitions are entered throughout the text and typeset once where they first
appear. I plan to use blocks for that but I don't find a way to alphabetically
sort the result... Is it possible?
