Here is a strange case. Using ConTeXt 2002.7.26, pdfeTeX, Version
3.14159-1.00a-pretest-20010806-2.1.
I have a script which uses Adobe Sabon, but I switch back to CM and use
math mode when I need just a few Greek characters. All was working well
until I started adjusting font size, and then I got:
! Math formula deleted: Insufficient symbol fonts.
upon encountering the first math mode usage. Some font sizes work and
some don't:
ok: 10, 10.0, 10.01, 11
no good: 10.1, 10.2, 10.3, 10.4, 10.5
Looks like a fractional font size problem, although I can't explain why
10.01 works, unless it is rounded to a whole point size.
Here is a small script demonstrating the error:
* * *
\usetypescriptfile[type-sabon]
\usetypescript[Sabon]
\usetypescript[modern][default]
\setupbodyfont[Sabon]
\def\Greek#1{{\switchtobodyfont[modern]$#1$}}
\starttext
% ok
\switchtobodyfont[11pt]
Here is an alpha: \Greek{\alpha}.
% ok
\switchtobodyfont[10pt]
Here is a beta: \Greek{\beta}.
% ok
\switchtobodyfont[10.01pt]
Here is a gamma: \Greek{\gamma}.
% no good!
\switchtobodyfont[10.5pt]
Here is a delta: \Greek{\delta}.
\stoptext

The problem is that you need to define a bodyfont environment (search for
that in font-* / type-* files for examples)
by default, context rounds to 1 digit behind the period, so internally
10.01 == 10 and 10.10 == 10.1 and that size does not hav ethe math preset
