more on texfont (ttf successes?)

Folks,

I've been doing some testing on texfont, and it seems to *almost* support
truetype (.ttf) fonts perfectly fine. Has anyone used it to install ttf
files, and had it work perfectly? 

I think all that needs changing is where the mapfile gets written... the
type1 extension ".pfb" is currently hard-coded. I'll experiment with a
solution (that hopefully works better with .otf files too).

Hans, has texfont.pl received any recent private changes that my OpenType
patch has to be synched to? I don't want to create a bigger fork than
necessary.

no big changes (i'll send you the latest); if you send me back the latest 
patch then, i'll have a look at it
