I found a file mpost.exe (only 4 kb) in c:\texmf\miktex\bin. Is this
sufficient evidence that metapost was installed?
Isn't metapost installed when installing MikTeX?
If not, where do I get it?
This directory c:\texmf\miktex\bin is in the MS-DOS path.

I still get the warning: Unknown command "mpost"
