so we would have (in typo-mar):

\appendtoks
     \forgetall
     \tf
     \resetallattributes % \deactivatecolor % needed, but maybe we 
should switch to maintextcolor: \onlyinheritmaintextcolor
\to \everymargindatacontent

we can try that for a while and see where it spoils the game
