no, just conventions ...

\setupbodyfont[cambria,10pt]

\starttext

     ${\mathupright\bf      λ}= 1$
     ${\mathgreekupright\bf λ}= 1$

     \setupmathematics[lcgreek=normal]

     ${         λ}= 1$
     ${\bf      λ}= 1$

\stoptext
