Tested with my setup,
which -- you know -- is quite complex.

The error is triggered by this line:
context(
"\\setlayer[layername]{\\externalfigure[figure.pdf][scale=900]}"
)
Since it's a pdf figure, it should be linked to the new pdf
library.
