Hi,
I just downloaded context, followed the instructions to install it
using miktex (I've been using latex), but I have a few problems. I
also installed ActiveState Perl, which I didn't have because I do all
my scripting in Python, so I don't know if I am facing a Context or
Perl problem.
When I run
D:\tex\texmf\context\perltk>texexec test.tex
I get:
TeXExec 2.5 - ConTeXt / PRAGMA ADE 1997-2001
executable : pdfetex
format : d:/tex/localtexmf/miktex/fmt/cont-en
inputfile : test
output : standard
interface : en
current mode : all
TeX run : 1
The name specified is not recognized as an
internal or external command, operable program or batch file.
run time : 0 seconds
But I do not get any output from the file. I don't know if the error
message "the name specified..." is produced by context or Perl. Any
ideas?
Best regards,
Luis

I don't recognize that message.
Did you copy texexec.rme into texexec.ini and activate the miktex section?
You can get a bit more info about what texexec does, when you say:
texexec --verbose
at least the paths shown should be ok

Hi Hans,
Yes, I copied texexec.rme into texexec.rme after making a few
modifications in the file, namely setting the program to use miktex
and setting a few paths.
My tex installation tree looks like: d:\tex\texmf\... and
d:\tex\localtexmf\...
When I run texexec --verbose I get:

If I try to run texexec test.tex I get the error message I mentioned
in my previous mail. If test.tex contains:
\starttext
\framed{Is it working?}
\stoptext
the only file I get has extension .tmp and it looks like:
\unprotect
\setupsystem[\c!gebied={d:/tex/texmf/tex/context/user/}]
\protect
Just in case I am running ActiveState Perl 5.6.1.628, Miktex 2.0 in
Windows NT 4.00.1381 SP6, 512 Mb RAM and plenty of HD space. Any help
will be appreciated.
Cheers,
Luis
