is some code to use variable fonts.
I don't have the fonts but tried it (in a current context mkiv) with
"bahnschrift" instead which as far as I could find out should be a
variable font too, but can't see any effect.
Is the code still meant to work?

sorry I can’t help you, but there’s an article by Hans in the proceedings of 11th context meeting, 2017. Do you have that?
