Try "luatools --make --compile cont-de" work. You could also try to load the german format with "luatools --run cont-de myfile" (after you generated the format). I guess that you are the first user (apart from Hans, maybe) who has ever tried using mkiv with non-English interface, so you might need a bit of patience to get the problems solved.
