Yes, that was it, thanks a lot!!
You're quite right about putting this in the howto, it should be done, and
maybe also add something about the files texexec.ini and cont-sys.tex.

Renaud: I looked at the page about a debian install, it should be easy to
adapt this to other distros, like gentoo for instance which has up to date
tetex versions.
