I've just installed latest beta and tried to compile following document:

\starttext

\completecontent

\chapter{A}
\section{One}
  Aaa.

\chapter{B}
\section{One}
  Aaa.

\stoptext

Maybe it's just to late, and I don't see some obvious error here, but shouldn't
table of contents be generated? It isn't - texexec runs once.

In the messages I get:

systems : begin file contents at line 1
title          : - \headtext {\v!inhoud }
system         : part,chapter,section,subsection,subsubsection,subsubsubsection
,subsubsubsubsection not found/processed

Merry Christmas and a Happy new Year to all of you, /S

This works ok here. Can you delete the .tuo file and give it another try?

Tried that already. No go. I even unpacked cont-tmf and rerun texhash, texexec
(texexec --bodyfont plr8 --make en). The message is the same and TOC is still
missing :( Maybe file layout has changed somewhere during last 2 months and I
have some old file lying aroung...

Changes to texexec.ini I've done are:

set  UsedInterfaces     to  en
set  TeXExecutable      to  etex

Strange. Are you sure that you got the right formats? What is the starting
page number?

Works without it too. The font is plr8.

Pretty sure, yes.

It's 1.

One more thing - I use Polish (\language and \mainlanguage) but switching to en
doesn't help.

You should be able to run

	texutil --ref <yourfile>

by hand.

I can run it but it does not solve the problem. TOC is still missing. Ehh.

I asume that your tuo file may be overwritten.

(1) is there a tui file made
(2) is there a tuo file too
(3) has this file {chapter} and {section} list entries
(4) can you try \placelist[chapter][criterium=all]
(5) does the toc placement command precede the first chapter

If not, can you send me a zip with the tex, tui, tuo and log file?

Hans

No. There is no such file.

Ok. The `Contents' heading dissappeared.

Yes.

Ok. Sent in separate email.

Then that's the problem. Texexec calls texutil to convert the tui into a
tuo file, but only when the run is successful! Can texutil be run? [this is
what taco was referring to]

texutil --ref yourfile

Ouch. I've misread Taco's texutil --ref as texexec --ref :( Sorry for the
confusion. Yes - indeed, it was the problem, as texutil didn't have executable
bits set (zip archives don't preserve them).
