Hi,
I see the Jan 26 version of context so I just want to upgrade my system.
As what I did before, go to http://minimals.contextgarden.net/ and
download the file, unzip it and run.
after rsync, it cannot generate the mkiv format (other formats are fine)
I run Debian on x86 intel machine. I had done this several times in
the past month and everything is fine.
btw, why is download speed so slow these days? after hours of rsync it
finally began to generate the format....

there's a bug in the binary (some exec quoting problem); this is
corrected so you have to wait till the bin is updated

This did also happen on my machine; I can't generate the format for mkiv
but I can't provide more information at the moment.
Many other things to do and finishing a long time ConTeXt module to
put it on the garden.

Jikes, I am afraid luatools is too new now: this needs the luatex trunk,

You could (and it doesn't harm anybody).
But luatools should be patched as well. Passing an argument completely
coverd in quotes is not right, even if it accidentally does work with
the latest binary.

I have updated LM and LuaTeX for win, linux & osx-intel now, but I
have no access/knowledge how to compile for other platforms.
It seems to work here.

Another problem I want to report is that, after running first-setup.sh
script, it will automatically generate the MKIV format. but the temp
cache directory is wrong. whenever it finished, I should do
luatools --generate
texexec --make --lua
again,
or else I will get nothing when I compile a file:

i will rever that; i only did that because in some intermediate binary
it was the only way to get it working -)
