Rats! Are there other cont-en.fmt and cont-nl.fmt files on your machine?
Run
kpsewhich cont-en.fmt
and let me know what you get back offlist.
By the way, what installation for TeX/ConTeXt are you using and how
did you do it? Did you run
texmfstart texexec --make --all
or (if you do not have the texmfstart stub working)
texexec --make --all
during or after installing ConTeXt? (You may have to begin these
commands with sudo.)
