The same typo is present in the ConTeXt user manual [1] in chapter 13 »Figures«.

There is also a wording issue in my opinion.

	Normally, users need not concern themselves …

I would change that to

	Normally, users do not need to concern themselves …

or

	Normally, users need not to concern themselves ….

But I am no native English speaker. I would have prepared a patch, but I did not find any sources for the user manual.

The original wording is fine. Your two suggestions are unidiomatic (1) or ungrammatical (2).
