Doing this, of course, with a setup for all chapters at once. Thus being able to change that something globally, and not by changing all chapter titles indivdually. The latter would amount to a series of changes like \startchapter[title=- Its title,reference=chap:thisone] to \startchapter[title=+ Its title,reference=chap:thisone] to achieve Chapter 1 + Its title instead. I hope this clarifies the problem I posed to myself in wanting this.
