I was aware of this. While there is no solution that adds vertical lines into matrices, one can juxtapose two (or more) of them with
properly chosen delimiters, like so:

[bvmatrix]
[left={\left(\,},right={\ \right\vert}]

[rbmatrix]
[left={\left.\,},right={\,\right)}]
\starttext
\startformula
\startbvmatrix

\NC 1 \NR
