Hi,
may I ask a basic question regarding the \starttyping environment?
I want to typeset some verbatim text with color=blue. So I defined:
\setuptyping
[space=off, % on off
page=yes, % yes no
option=none, % slanted normal commands color none
text=yes, % yes no
% icommand=, % command
% vcommand=, % command
% ccommand=, % command
% before=, % command
% after=, % command
margin=no, % dimension standard yes no
% evenmargin=, % dimension
% oddmargin=, % dimension
blank=line, % dimension small medium big standard halfline line
escape=/, % escape character
indentnext=yes, % yes no
style=normal, % normal bold slanted boldslanted type cap small...
command
color=blue, % name
palet=colorpretty,
lines=no] % yes no hyphenated
Verbatim text fitting on a single page ist colored blue. However, if the
text spans multiple pages then only verbatim text on the first page is
colored blue. On the following pages verbatim text is set in black. I
have no idea where to look for my mistake. Any help would be well
appreciated.
Also the coloring works only for \starttyping and \typefile but not for
\type.
I do have yet another issue. When I have a \subsection followed
immediately by a \starttyping then sometimes I end up with the section
title as the last item on a page. Verbatim text starts on the following
page. In that case I would like to have the section title on the same
page as the verbatim text. Again, I have no idea where to look for my
mistake.
Thanks,
/Markus.

This works ok here, do you run a recent version ? (at least sync with my
latest version to be sure)

\setuptype[color=green]
actually, you can do things like:
\definetype [blabla] \setyptype[blabla][color=red] \blabla{this should be
red} indeed

try to add \page[no] before the starttyping; the break results from the
\blank preceding the typing (which is legal); this is something on my
agenda of 'to be sorted out'

Well, I was afraid this proposal might come up. :) I don't think I am
running your latest code. Actually I have no idea what version of code I
am running. I just installed the MacOS X distribution of tetex about a
year ago. So it is going into the bits and pieces of a TeX installation
then? Weeeeeell..guess I am about destroying my TeX in the course of
it. :)

I was missing that piece. Thanks, works great.

I experimented with that without success so far. However, I found that
some more strange behavior disappeared when I removed some \setuphead
definitions. Looks like my ConTeXt code is full with errors. :(
Thanks for your help.
/Markus.

just unzip cont-tmf in your texmf-local tree (first erase context/base or
copy it somewhere outside the tree), next run mktexlsr and texexec --make
--alone
actually, the texshop environment should help you out
