In fact, you are both right, write the macro differently.


\def\repere{\bigl(O\,;I,J\bigr)}

\starttext
\dorecurse{2}{blabla} $\repere$ \dorecurse{2}{blabla}

\dorecurse{2}{blabla} $\bigl(O\,;I,J\bigr)$ \dorecurse{2}{blabla}

\stoptext
