Is there a hardcoded list somewhere or is it "name begins with a 'word' in lowercase". IMHO it would be desirable that the prefix itself could be specified in a field. onsdag 28 januari 2015 skrev Ulrike Fischer : > Am Tue, 27 Jan 2015 21:11:03 +0100 schrieb J=C3=B6rg Weger: > > > how would you =E2=80=9Cset up an entry properly=E2=80=9D in a BibTeX fi= le where you have > > only one field for author/editor (serious question!)? > > In biblatex/biber you could setup the entries like this: > > @book{goethe, > author=3D{von Goethe, Johann Wolfgang}, > title=3D{Faust}, > year=3D{1775} > } > > @book{halen, > author=3D{van Halen, Edward}, > title=3D{Title}, > year=3D{1775}, > options =3D {useprefix=3Dtrue} > } > > Then you get "Goethe" and "van Halen". > > (It is not a perfect solution: assume a book from Goethe and van > Halen then you would have to use braces to save the "van": > author=3D{von Goethe, Johann Wolfgang and {van Halen}, Edward}, > > > > -- > Ulrike Fischer > http://www.troubleshooting-tex.de/ > > > _________________________________________________________________________= __________ > If your question is of interest to others as well, please add an entry to > the Wiki! > > maillist : ntg-context@ntg.nl / > http://www.ntg.nl/mailman/listinfo/ntg-context > webpage : http://www.pragma-ade.nl / http://tex.aanhet.net > archive : http://foundry.supelec.fr/projects/contextrev/ > wiki : http://contextgarden.net > > _________________________________________________________________________= __________ --089e013d17b63986b0050dc95350 Content-Type: text/html; charset=UTF-8 Content-Transfer-Encoding: quoted-printable How is a prefix identified as such with this technique? In biblatex/biber you could setup the entries like this:

@book{goethe,
=C2=A0author=3D{von Goethe, Johann Wolfgang},
=C2=A0title=3D{Faust},
=C2=A0year=3D{1775}
=C2=A0}

@book{halen,
=C2=A0author=3D{van Halen, Edward},
=C2=A0title=3D{Title},
=C2=A0year=3D{1775},
=C2=A0options =3D {useprefix=3Dtrue}
=C2=A0}

Then you get "Goethe" and "van Halen".

(It is not a perfect solution: assume a book from Goethe and van
Halen then you would have to use braces to save the "van":
author=3D{von Goethe, Johann Wolfgang and {van Halen}, Edward},
