Dear Flavien,

This version works — note “dataset=document” and the “document::” in the citation. The clue is in the log:

publications    > cite > non-existent entry 'batty' in ''
publications    > no field 'num' for tag 'batty' in dataset ‘'

The second big “1” is because \completebtxrendering has an implicit \chapter, but seemingly no default title.
