Hello,

I am not sure= if I understand you correctly, but do you directly edit a bbl file? Normal= ly, a .bib file is made by the user and ConTeXt (and LaTeX as well) generat= e the .bbl file for you. Your example works for me using the following code= =A0

\setupbibtex[database=3D{library}]<= /div>
\setuppublications[alternative=3Dams]

\starttext
Bla\cite{birn06}

\placepublications[criterium=3Dall]
\stoptext
with a .bib file containing

@arti= cle{birn06,
=A0 author =3D {Dieter Birnbache},
=A0 titl= e =3D {The Socratic method in teaching medical ethics: Potentials and limit= ations},
=A0 year =3D {1999},
=A0 journal =3D {Medicine, Health Care = and Philosophy},
=A0 volume =3D {2},
=A0 issue =3D {3},=
=A0 pages =3D {219-224}
}

More information is on the wiki page:=A0http://wiki.contextgarden.net/Bibl= iography, e.g. why you do not need to use a module any more.

In my list of references, I c= an't get the author or title (of journal article) to print. =A0In my .t= ex file, I have the following lines:

\usemodule[bib]

and in my .bbl file the (so far) only reference is:

\startpublication[k=3Dbirn06,
=A0 t=3D= article,
=A0 a=3DD.~Birnbache,
=A0 y=3D1999]
= =A0 \author{Dieter}{}{Birnbache}

=A0 \journal{Medici= ne, Health Care and Philosophy}
=A0 \volume{2}
=A0 \iss= ue{3}
=A0 \pages{219-224}
\stoppublication

However, when I typeset the file, the reference list consists of

[1] , Medicine, Health Care and Philosophy 2, 219 (19= 99).

I'm a little confused about all the variables= , commands and parameters. =A0So - first, what am I doing wrong? =A0Second,= are there somewhere out there some example files of bibliography usage (I = learn best by seeing what other people have done, and adapting that to my o= wn ends)? =A0Third: can I include the references in the body of the .tex fi= le (as you can do with LaTeX and the thebibliography environment)?

Thanks,
