To test whether you’re on a left or right page you can use the \signalrightpage and \doifrightpageelse commands.

\setuppagenumbering[alternative=doublesided]
%\setuppagenumbering[alternative={singlesided,doublesided}]

\starttext

\dorecurse{100}
  {\dontleavehmode\signalrightpage
   \doifrightpageelse{Right page}{Left page}
   \blank[line]}

\stoptext

Wolfgang
