The problem is not, that the bitmaps are not produced, but that tex doesn't
ask for the RIGHT bitmaps!

How should this be done?

1036.8 is not the magnificationfactor, it is an magnificated resolution.
So calc: 12pt * 1036.8/600 --> 20.74pt
