I tried both the ConTeXt beta and the stable version. Any ideas what's wrong? Full log file is below. My guess is that the ones in the former were created in June than the ones in the latter were created in September. If this is right, copy the September files from /texmf.local/web2C/pdfetex to / texmf.local/web2C. That worked for me and I hope that it does for you too. There has been much on the list about what people want in their ~/ texmf. Still, I find it much simpler to use it only for stuff that is mine and not part of the ConTeXT distribution. Are there other cont-en.fmt and cont-nl.fmt files on your machine? Run kpsewhich cont-en.fmt and let me know what you get back offlist. By the way, what installation for TeX/ConTeXt are you using and how did you do it? Did you run texmfstart texexec --make --all or (if you do not have the texmfstart stub working) texexec --make --all during or after installing ConTeXt?
