Maybe you need to specify the installation directory or issue tex/setuptex from inside the install folder?
font-opt.lua should be in <install folder>/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base

Well, that’s exactly what the following command does (at least, it works
for me in a local installation, but not system-wide):
$ source tex/setuptex
Setting "/opt/ctxbeta/tex" as ConTeXt root.
It worked with Fedora 16, but after installing Fedora 19 it doesn’t work.

$ source tex/setuptex
Do you do that as root? You probably need to add it to something like
/etc/bashrc or the like... it sounds like you don't have permission/your
shell isn't getting the right path...

Both as root and as a regular user. Missing permissions for root? It
would be the first time I see this.
Of course there is something wrong and I don’t know what it is.
Many thanks for your reply,

[Sorry for the much delayed reply, Thomas. One of the mail servers seem
to be rejecting messages from the SMTP server I used. So I had to open
a new account to maili the ConTeXt list.]
Installing zsh gives the same error, but I don’t have zsh installed (I
removed after installing it to test this).

I play around with quite a few linux distributions and use them on a regular basis. The error only crops up on fedora. It comes and goes away, without any apparent reason. I use zsh as my login shell, so I thought it may have something to do with the fedora version of this shell, but now it looks like it's a problem within fedora. But to sum up what I think we found in the previous discussion: it's a problem with fedora, not with context; there's nothing that the context developers can do about it.

Works all fine (also used win64.zip file) if I do not specify --context=current.
Thanks

Hello all,
I got the installation zip file following instructions found in: http://wiki.contextgarden.net/ConTeXt_Standalone#Windows
Unzipped in C:\ConTeXt directory (brand new an empty).
Started command: first-setup.bat --context=current --modules=all
After a couple of minutes: I get:
! LuaTeX error c:/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/node-shp.lua:58: ta
ble index is nil
stack traceback:
c:/ConTeXt/tex/texmf-context/tex/context/base/node-shp.lua:58: in function 'code'

[\directlua]:1: in main chunk.
\registerctxluafile ...ua.registercode("#1","#2")}
l.21 \registerctxluafile{node-shp}{1.001}
?
and the installation process stops at lua prompt.
I’ve checked that luatex.exe is the one Inside C:\ConTeXt\ tex subdirectory. (C:\ConTeXt\tex\texmf-win64\bin). It’s slightly strange it uses 64 bits exe because I downloaded http://minimals.contextgarden.net/setup/context-setup-mswin.zip
Any hints please ? I am using Windows 8.1.
Thanks
Best regards
Joseph Canedo

Dear list,
I have installed a system-wide ConTeXt Standalone in Fedora 19,
following the instructions from the wiki.
But when I try to rebuild the font cache, I get the following error
(with option verbose):
resolvers | resolving | remembering file 'font-otp.lua'cannot open
: No such file or directory
I don’t know what I’m doing wrong, but I get the error as root also.
Could anyone tell me what it’s wrong here?
Many thanks for your help,
Pablo
