Your installation finds the latin modern fonts, but can't associate  
them with the proper type1 fonts.

You probably should update pdfetex as well (current version is 1.30.6).

You have your ~ in /usr/home ? That's a weird setup. What OS are you on?

That's where the shit is hitting the fan: you should see something  
like lmtt10.pfb here. Can you try to uncomment the line  
\autoloadmapfilestrue in cont-sys.tex (if that file doesn't exist,  
copy cont-sys.rme to cont-sys.tex and edit it). Also, make sure there  
isn't an additional pdftex.map somewhere on your system that is  
causing the trouble. What does
kpsewhere pdftex.map
return?
