Thanks Luigi for your attention.
Typesetting the following file
%%%% basic-test.tex
\starttext
This file has been typeset
on \currentdate{}
at \currenttime,
with
\doifmodeelse{mkiv}
{mkiv,
LuaTeX version \the\luatexversion,
LuaTeX revision \luatexrevision,
(LuaTeX date stamp \luatexdatestamp),
using the command: \par
\type{context basic-test.tex}\par}
{mkii,
using the command: \par
\type{texexec basic-test.tex}\par}
ConTeXt version \contextversion.
\stoptex
%%%% end basic-test.tex
before updating to 2009-11-24 release, I get a correct behaviour and the file is typeset with a log having these lines:
……Setting "//context-minimal/tex" as TEXROOT instead.
This is LuaTeX, Version beta-0.44.0-2009103007
\write18 enabled.
……
After updating to today's release, I get an error message
……… /usr/texbin/context: Permission denied
………
However upon changing the setuptex files of the latest release and replacing them with a previous version the typesetting works fine again with a log file having these lines:
………This is LuaTeX, Version beta-0.45.0-2009111904
\write18 enabled.
………
Looks like the new setuptex files behave differently, or has something changed with first-setup.sh?
Thanks again: OK
