Plain TeX prints a big ugly slug to the right of lines that are poorly
justified. I have never seen it in Context docs. Is there a way to
turn it on?

\version[temporary]
provides you this side effect
(texutil --logfile --box yourfile provides a list)

Try \version[final, concept, temporary]
\version[concept] should produce the desired result (untested).
