Subject: dvi support in latest version
Date: Sat, 28 May 2005 14:12:15 +0200 (CEST)	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <Pine.LNX.4.58.0505281358580.5259@gaston.free.fr> (raw)

Hello,

thanks to Hans, I can use now the latest version to produce PDFs.
This is what I do:
texmfstart newtexexec --make --all
mkdir /opt/teTeX/texmf-var/web2c/pdfetex
mv cont-* mptopdf.* /opt/teTeX/texmf-var/web2c/pdfetex
mktexlsr

Now, "texmfstart newtexexec testfile" is producing a pdf and
"texmfstart newtexexec --dvi testfile" is producing a dvi.
But dvips has difficulties with this dvi-file:

This is dvips(k) 5.95a Copyright 2005 Radical Eye Software (www.radicaleye.com)
' TeX output 2005.05.28:1404' -> testfile.ps
kpathsea: Running mktexpk --mfmode ljfzzz --bdpi 1200 --mag 1+0/1200 --dpi 1200 ec-lmr12
mktexpk: don't know how to create bitmap font for ec-lmr12.
kpathsea: Appending font creation commands to missfont.log.
dvips: Font ec-lmr12 not found, characters will be left blank.

There must be at least some problem with the Latin-Modern setup...

testfile.tex ist just:
\starttext
hallo
\stoptext

Thanks in advance for any help!
Greetings, Peter
