Hi there,

just to prevent confusion: the context rendering
(live.contextgarden.net, examples in the wiki) are currently broken.
The sysops are working to get it working again. I'll report back if
things are working correctly.

To be more precise: I broke it and Patrick is working on fixing it
(since I have no idea what I did). So please send all the complaints
and angry mails to *my* address and possible suggestions to Patrick's
;)

Sorry for that,

ConTeXt seems to be working again.

BTW: Mojca has suggested to install a newer version of pdftex
(currently 3.141592-1.21a-2.2) on the server. Which distribution would
you prefer? The requirements:

* debian 3.1 (Intel)
* no cdrom available, no ability to mount loopback devices
* almost no space limit
* I don't want to update the distribution more often then once a year.

Feedback welcome

Hi Patrick,

tried live ConTeXt and I got no pdf file.

I copied the error message from the log file.

Forget my last post, I tried it again and it works now as expected.

Hmm, wouldn't it be best to just update pdftex alone, without
anything else? You don't need any cdrom or loopbacks for that. Or
what exactly do you mean when you say "distribution"? Is your server
used for any TeX-related work other than providing the backend for
the garden?

Don't know if I'm making sense here, but that's what went through my
head...

Best

Thomas

This is fixed now, thanks for the report. My tests left an unwanted
format file in the TeX tree.

Yes, this could be an option, right. I didn't think of that choice.

Such as 'tetex', 'texlive' or the minimal distribution from PRAGMA
ADE.

No.

Thanks for the feedback, (and still collecting wishes)

Hello Patrick,
if texlive is an option for you, I could provide a tgz-package.

I can build such a package on a SuSE-9.0 or SuSE-10.1 system as this:
rpmbuild --rebuild --force http://pmrb.free.fr/texlive/texlive.spm
tar -czf /tmp/texlive.tgz /opt/TeX-live /etc/profile.d/texlive.sh

Cheers, Peter
