When I try to process contml module's documentation, the system seems
to go in an infinite loop. No error is produced, but the process takes
100% memory and does not produce anything for a loong time.
If I comment all the strings containing \showelements and
\showXDScomponent, documentation is produced.
I do not know why this happens.

probably some wrong global replace bug, in xtag-run.tex there should be:
\gdef\showXMLign[#1]%
{\setXMLshow\defineXMLignore \relax\relax[#1]%
\setXMLshow\defineXMLsingular \relax\relax[#1]}
(since this one is not found, we get a loop where this delayed definition tries to load itself over and over again, not being defined)
