I was looking for arabtype.ttf too, but I did not want to jump through the
MS group registration hoops, in the end I settled for this file of the same
name IIRC

installing a ttf on mac os is a matter of double-clicking (font book opens),
and pressing the "install font" button. The font ends up in ~/Library/Fonts
